Mike is a the Director for York Local Delivery Unit.

He is responsible for all aspects of the service in York and will also be responsible for area-wide Accredited Programmes, Community Payback, Education Training and Employment, and the establsihment of a new area-wide Information, Performance, Quality and Process Management Team.

Prior to joining North Yorkshire, Mike worked for the North East Regional Manager’s team, commencing in April 2005, where he worked on the implementation of the National Offender Management Model.

For the previous three and a half years previous, Mike worked for the National Probation Directorate as the North East Regional ‘What Works’ Manager contributing to the implementation of the What Works agenda in the region. The North East probation areas demonstrated outstanding performance in this major organisational change.

Immediately prior to working in the North East, Mike worked in the Crime and Disorder Reduction Directorate in Government Office, Yorkshire and Humber, and initiated, with a prison service colleague, the development of regional strategy that has now become The National Reducing Re-offending Action Plan.

Mike also worked in the Humberside Probation Area for 15 years as a Probation Officer and Senior Probation Officer in a range of community and prison settings.

In his spare time he enjoys composing and playing music.
